Algeria's Lower House Backs Execution for Forest Arson
Algeria's National Assembly voted to punish deliberately setting fire to forests, woods or fields with execution, after more than 100 fires in the northeast officially killed 12. The bill still needs approval by the Council of the Nation, the upper house, and the president. Justice Minister Lotfi Boudjemaa called execution 'the appropriate legal response to curb these crimes.'
