
Algeria Votes for Death Penalty Over Forest Fires
Algeria's lower house of parliament voted to punish intentionally setting fire to forests, woods or fields with execution, after more than 100 fires in the northeast officially killed 12. The plan still needs approval from the upper house, like a second check, and the president. Justice Minister Lotfi Boudjemaa called execution 'the appropriate legal response to curb these crimes.'
