Wounded Captain Opens Cockpit, Passengers Stop Co-Pilot Attack

Flydubai flight FZ1073 from Dubai to Tel Aviv diverted to Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, after the co-pilot stabbed Captain Smit Machchhar in the cockpit with more than 170 people aboard. Despite wounds, Machchhar unlocked the door so crew and passengers could subdue the attacker, who damaged controls. Another pilot on board took over and landed safely. Machchhar was hospitalized.
