Conflicting Death Tolls After Pakistan Airstrikes in Afghanistan

Pakistan struck two sites in Afghanistan's Kunar and Helmand late Wednesday, Sept. 30. Kabul says nine women and children were killed, 11 wounded, and three houses destroyed. Islamabad says 22 fighters died in hideouts used by armed groups. Neither toll could be independently verified, leaving civilian harm unresolved.
