US oil stockpiles up to 427.3 million barrels

US commercial crude oil stocks, not counting the emergency reserve, rose 900,000 barrels to 427.3 million in the week ended Sept. 25, about 2% above the five-year average, the Wall Street Journal reported. More stored oil can help hold down petrol prices, but one week's rise doesn't make a trend.
