Porto in advanced talks to sign free agent Chris Smalling

Porto are in advanced talks to sign Chris Smalling, BBC Sport reported on 30 September. The 36-year-old defender is a free agent after leaving Al-Fayha in the summer. A deal is not yet done. Smalling was linked with Rangers, but that move did not materialise.
