Trump, AI leaders sign voluntary deal to set own safety rules

President Donald Trump said he and top AI executives signed a voluntary agreement for companies to set their own safety rules for building AI at a White House meeting Sept. 29, 2026. Signers included the CEOs of Anthropic, Google, Meta and Nvidia, OpenAI's president and Elon Musk, with House Speaker Mike Johnson also attending, according to NPR.
