Trump and makers of smart computers agree to police themselves

President Donald Trump said he and heads of companies that make smart computers signed a voluntary promise to watch their work, like setting their own speed limits, at a White House meeting Sept. 29, 2026. Signers included the CEOs of Anthropic, Google, Meta and Nvidia, OpenAI's president and Elon Musk, with House Speaker Mike Johnson also attending, according to NPR.
