Ottawa on track to name Alberta-B.C. pipeline national-interest project by Oct. 1

Energy Minister Tim Hodgson says Ottawa is on track to name the proposed Alberta-to-B.C. oil pipeline a project of national interest by Oct. 1. He told The Globe and Mail the Calgary-based Major Projects Office is finishing steps under the Building Canada Act, the law for approving large projects. The move would deliver on a commitment made in May.
