Willis: No income tax cuts until 2028/29 surplus

Finance Minister Nicola Willis says there will be no income tax cuts until the Budget returns to surplus in 2028/29. She said a surplus comes first, then lower debt, before tax brackets — the income levels where tax rates change — are adjusted. She confirmed National will still campaign on an income tax policy.
