Ortiz ruled competent to stand trial in Rihanna home shooting case

Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, 36, is competent to stand trial over the March shooting at Rihanna's Los Angeles home. Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Maria Cavalluzzi ruled on 29 September 2026 and reinstated criminal proceedings. The finding rested on a 23 September report by Dr Phani Tumu, which prosecutors and defence did not contest.
