
Ethiopia Blames Neighbors for Backing Drive to Remove Abiy
Ethiopia’s army chief, Birhanu Jula, accused Sudan and Egypt of supporting an armed alliance trying to oust Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, with Eritrea as intermediary. Sudan, Egypt and Eritrea all denied it — Sudan called it “baseless” — as fighting spreads in northern Ethiopia, raising fears of a wider regional clash.
