Ethiopia Says Neighboring Countries Want Its Leader Out

Ethiopia’s top general, Birhanu Jula, said Sudan and Egypt are helping a group of armed fighters trying to force out leader Abiy Ahmed, with Eritrea passing messages between them. All three deny it — Sudan calls it “baseless” — as fighting grows in northern Ethiopia, raising fears more countries could be pulled in.
