Spain hosts first French state visit since 2009

King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain welcomed French President Emmanuel Macron and Brigitte Macron to Madrid for a Sept. 29-30 state visit, the first by a French president since 2009. The welcome at the Royal Palace of Madrid included a 21-gun salute and Royal Guard review. The palace says the visit will highlight and reinforce ties.
