Oscars to move exclusively to YouTube from 2029

YouTube will become the exclusive global home of the Oscars from the 101st ceremony in 2029 under a multi-year rights deal, the Academy announced on 17 December 2025. Academy chief Bill Kramer told the Zurich Summit that the telecast will be free worldwide in over 30 languages, Deadline reported on 28 September 2026, ending ABC's run.
