Google to Replace Gemini Gems With Skills on Nov. 17

Google will retire Gemini Gems on November 17, 2026, replacing them with Skills. Gems, introduced in 2024, let users create custom AI assistants for specific jobs. Current Gems will convert automatically to Skills, which are reusable instruction sets that can be called up in different chats.
