European home heat pump sales climb to 1.16 million

Sales of home heat pumps — electric systems that heat buildings — rose to 1.16 million across 12 European countries in the first half of 2026, up from 1.05 million a year earlier, according to the European Heat Pump Association. It credits high energy prices and cuts to electricity taxes. Whether governments keep them will decide growth.
