More Europeans buy heaters that run on electricity

Sales of home heating devices that run on electricity instead of gas rose to 1.16 million in 12 European countries in the first half of 2026, up from 1.05 million a year earlier, the European Heat Pump Association said. It points to high energy prices and lower electricity taxes. Whether governments keep them will shape future sales.
