Missing song-to-recording link is music data's biggest unsolved problem, DDEX head says

Mark Isherwood, head of DDEX's Secretariat, told Music Business Worldwide the lack of authoritative, publicly available links between musical works — ISWCs, the composition code — and sound recordings — ISRCs, the recording code — is music data's single biggest unsolved problem. DDEX, the not-for-profit data-standards body, will host its MusicTech 20/20 Summit in Toronto on November 19.
