Can Israel legally close Britain's East Jerusalem consulate?

Former UK attorney general Dominic Grieve told the Foreign Office Israel has no legal power to close Britain's East Jerusalem consulate on 8 October. Grieve says East Jerusalem is occupied Palestinian territory under international law, so Israel cannot order it shut. Israel claims full sovereignty (control and authority) over Jerusalem and ties the closure to Britain's ban on settlement goods.
