Madonna opens 2026 VMAs with Confessions II medley after 23 years

Madonna opened the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards on Sept. 27 with a Confessions II medley, Billboard reported. Sabrina Carpenter played opening chords of “Bring Your Love” on piano before Charli xcx joined for the “Danceteria Afterhours” remix. It was her first live performance at the ceremony in 23 years.
