Assefa wins Berlin in 2:11:04, third-fastest women's marathon ever

Tigst Assefa won the Berlin Marathon on 27 September in 2:11:04, the third-fastest women's marathon in history. The 29-year-old Ethiopian led by a minute at 15km and held world-record pace to 35km before fading. She still cut 49 seconds from her own course record of 2:11:53 from 2023.
