Jon Watts is attached to direct a new Star Wars film in development, with Simon Kinberg writing the script, Variety reported on 27 September 2026. Knight Edge Media broke the news first, according to the same Variety report. Watts directed three Tom Holland Spider-Man films and co-created Skeleton Crew with Christopher Ford, Variety said.
