'Halima' is first Finnish feature directed by Black woman

'Halima', written and directed by Finnish-Somali director Naima Mohamud, is the first Finnish feature film directed by a Black woman, Variety reported on 26 September 2026. The 1998-set comedy is in post-production and produced by It's Alive Films, No-Office Films and Vico Films, Variety reported.
