Stokes unlikely to get ECB clearance for MLC or PSL despite retirement

Ben Stokes is unlikely to receive ECB clearance to play in next summer's Major League Cricket or Pakistan Super League despite retiring from internationals in June 2026. The board can withhold the No-Objection Certificate, formal permission to play abroad, while he remains Durham-registered. His central contract ends in September, but NOC rules still apply.
