Government rejects return of separate Māori health authority

Associate Health Minister Matt Doocey says the Government will not bring back a separate Māori health authority, despite a Waitangi Tribunal recommendation to do so. He said Māori health work is going ahead under Whiria Te Ora, the national Māori Health Strategy, focused on better access, stronger services and better results.
