Akamai Commits $5.5 Billion to Build Capacity for Anthropic

Akamai will spend about $5.5 billion building computing capacity for its $11.6 billion, seven-year cloud deal with Anthropic. That includes $1.7 billion in extra 2026 capital spending to secure components such as memory early. The deal yields no 2026 revenue, then $150-$300 million from second half of 2027, reaching a $1.7 billion annual rate by end of 2028.
