Akamai to Spend $5.5 Billion for Anthropic Buildout Ahead of 2027 Revenue

Akamai expects to spend about $5.5 billion building capacity for its $11.6 billion, seven-year Anthropic cloud deal, including $1.7 billion in added 2026 capex for advance component purchases such as memory. Akamai expects no 2026 revenue from the deal, $150-$300 million starting in second-half 2027, reaching a $1.7 billion annual pace by end of 2028.
