Supreme Court Pauses Block on DHS Voter Citizenship Checks

The Supreme Court on Sept. 25, 2026 paused a June order by Judge Sparkle Sooknanan that blocked DHS from using its updated SAVE system to check voter citizenship. The stay lets states keep using the system while the case continues, NPR reported. It does not rule on whether the changes are legal.
