TfL to Launch Its Own Bus Operator in Late 2027

Transport for London will launch Buses for London, its own publicly owned bus company, in late 2027. It will start with just a few of London’s nearly 700 routes, operating beside eight private contractors. TfL says direct control lets profits stay in the system. Whether that means more reliable service at better value remains to be seen.
