Polysmiths removes middle floor to bring light to Peckham terrace

London studio Polysmiths removed the middle floor above the rear outrigger — the small back extension — in its renovation of Pine House, a terrace in Peckham, London, to form a double-height void, an opening rising through two floors, at the plan centre, Dezeen reported on 25 September 2026. Founder Charles Wu said light was the primary material.
