5.106%: the U.S. 10-year Treasury yield — the government's long-term borrowing rate — jumped 13.89 basis points, or hundredths of a percent, to that level on Sept. 23, Reuters reported. Highest since 2007, biggest daily rise since April 2025. Higher long-term yields tend to lift mortgage and loan rates. I'd watch if it holds above 5%.
