U.S. Borrowing Rate Hits 5.106%, Highest Since 2007

5.106%: the interest rate for 10-year U.S. government borrowing hit that on Sept. 23, Reuters reported, up 13.89 hundredths of a percent. Highest since 2007, biggest daily jump since April 2025. Think of it as the floor for loans — when it rises, mortgages and other loans get pricier. I'd watch whether it stays above 5%.
