Ombudsman to investigate Education Ministry over information law claims

Chief Ombudsman John Allen will investigate claims Education Ministry officials tried to get around the Official Information Act, the law covering public access to official documents. He met Secretary Ellen MacGregor-Reid and Public Service Commissioner Sir Brian Roche. MacGregor-Reid said the comments were wrong. Allen said he will report quickly but thoroughly.
