Greek PM rejects Bayeux-style loan for Parthenon sculptures

Greece's prime minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis rejected a Bayeux Tapestry-style temporary loan for the Parthenon sculptures. Writing in British newspaper The Guardian on 24 September 2026, he said Greece seeks permanent reunification in Athens, not a loan.
