Google to test AI chips in orbit on October 1 SpaceX launch

Google will launch a satellite carrying its Tensor Processing Units, chips built for AI, aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 on October 1. The Project Suncatcher flight will test how the chips handle launch stress, radiation and extreme temperatures, to assess whether AI data centers could operate in orbit.
