Mascaro leaves Desvia Filmes after 15 years, Ellis takes sole lead

Gabriel Mascaro has left Brazilian production company Desvia Filmes after 15 years of joint leadership, leaving co-founder Rachel Daisy Ellis in sole charge, Variety reported on 24 September 2026. Desvia was founded in 2010 by Mascaro and Ellis, and all 16 features launched at festivals including Berlin, Cannes and Locarno, according to Variety.
