Passenger assaults on Britain's railways hit record 13,464

Reported assaults on passengers and the public on Britain's mainline rail network reached 13,464 in 2025-26, according to the Office of Rail and Road, the rail regulator. That is up 36% from last year and the highest since records started in 2004. I'll be watching whether this reflects more reporting, or greater risk as journeys rebound.
