Brisbane beat Hawthorn by nine points to make fourth straight grand final

Brisbane beat Hawthorn 20.11 (131) to 19.8 (122) by nine points in the preliminary final at the MCG on 19 September. Co-captain Hugh McCluggage kicked the winner from a set shot after Jarman Impey was penalised for holding the ball, failing to release it when tackled. The Lions face the Dockers in the grand final.
