Qatar Says Gulf Faces Dangerous Phase in US-Israeli War on Iran

Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani told the U.N. General Assembly in New York on Sept. 22, 2026, that the Gulf faces "one of the most dangerous phases" over what he called a US-Israeli war on Iran. He blamed years of postponed diplomacy — put-off talks — and offered Qatar as trusted mediator to help negotiate an end.
