OpenAI says GPT-6 Sol at extra-high reasoning effort outperformed Claude Opus 5 at maximum effort on AutomationBench, a benchmark for AI agents handling tasks, at 9% of the cost per task. The company posted the claim Sept. 16 alongside GPT-6 Sol and Luna.
