Activision to take control of Halo franchise

Activision will take control of Halo under Xbox restructuring announced 22 September 2026. Xbox said a new purpose-built team, separate from Call of Duty development, will lead the franchise. Halo Studios will remain as a small team supporting community and games in-market. COO Matt Booty confirmed the plan in a company message.
