Argentina's booksellers declare emergency for 1,200 independent shops

The Federación Argentina de Librerías, Papelerías y Afines (FALPA) has declared a state of emergency in bookselling, saying the financial position of some 1,200 independent bookshops is no longer sustainable. Fundación El Libro, organiser of the Buenos Aires International Book Fair, backed the declaration on 17 September.
