Bitcoin clears $85,000, an eight-month high

Bitcoin traded above $85,000 on Sept. 21, 2026, its highest in eight months, Quartz and UNN reported. It stayed well above $80,000, a ceiling that had stopped earlier rallies. It is still short of the mid-January 2026 peak above $97,000. Ground recovered for holders, old high not yet tested.
