Vuelta stage 15 cut by 80 km in 44°C heat — riders say it was still too dangerous

Vuelta organisers shortened stage 15 from 189.7 km to 110.2 km under the extreme weather protocol as 44°C heat swept Andalucía. The original route carried 3,500 m of climbing. Riders reported temperatures averaging 41°C and peaking at 44°C on the opening climb. Britain's Matthew Brennan said it "wouldn't surprise me if people come home with heatstroke," and criticised the UCI for not going further.
