Tsukamoto's Venice Competition Entry "Mr. Nelson" Heads to TIFF Without U.S. Distribution

Shinya Tsukamoto's "Mr. Nelson, Did You Kill People?" premiered in Competition at the 2026 Venice International Film Festival and screens next in TIFF's Special Presentations programme, still without a U.S. distributor (IndieWire). The 116-minute trauma drama, which Tsukamoto wrote, directed, shot and edited across four countries, adapts Vietnam veteran Allen Nelson's memoir about the atrocities he committed and the 1,200-plus lectures he later delivered across Japan (The Hollywood Reporter).
