Hailstorm forces Vuelta stage three abandonment — no winner declared

Stage three of the 2026 Vuelta a España was cancelled after hail struck riders climbing the Col de Mont-Louis with 15km of the 174km route remaining. Race leader Tadej Pogacar gestured the peloton to shelter in a nearby hotel. Organisers confirmed no resumption, no winner, no podium. The GC stays unchanged: Pogacar leads at 4h 58m 40s, Van Aert +9s, Brennan +10s.
