China orders nationwide museum emergency overhaul after Terracotta Army blackout

After a blackout at the Terracotta Warriors Museum in Xi'an on 4 August, China's NCHA ordered all public museums to overhaul backup power, air conditioning and fire systems, deploy real-time visitor monitoring and coordinate with local governments. Similar outages hit museums in Beijing and Shanxi. Conservation lecturer Joey Cao warned outages endanger artefacts needing strict climate control.
