Annoying McAfee Pop-Up on LG Monitors Came Through Microsoft's Own Software Channel

Microsoft's Windows chief Pavan Davuluri said July 23 that LG agreed to turn off a McAfee promotional pop-up from its monitor installation program. LG confirmed the program was distributed through Microsoft's official Windows distribution process — not installed from an outside source — meaning the unwanted pop-up traveled a channel Microsoft is supposed to control.
