Two Leading AI Companies Warn White House About Chinese AI Risk

OpenAI and Anthropic — rival AI companies — jointly warned Trump administration officials in July 2026 that freely downloadable Chinese AI systems pose national-security risks. Think of these systems as software anyone can copy and run at home. Axios reported the warning on July 23. Both companies already face U.S. government review of their own AI releases.
